Top trends in 2018 to say I do? Or I Don’t.

Weddings are a celebration based on traditions.  The bride must wear a white dress, there must be a huge banquet, the bridesmaids should be wearing the same dress… And so on, and on. But, sometimes, trends come in and give it a little twist to these traditions.

Wedding trends is what make weddings interesting. And during this year, you can expect some pretty unique trends that will make you want to say “I do” right there, right then.

So, without further adieu, let’s take a little look at the top wedding trends in 2018. From very casual weddings, to unique cake and bomb parties, these trends will surprise us all.

#1: Naked wedding cakes.

Yes, you read that right. Forget about big, extravagant cakes with little decorations and details that nobody really paid too much attention to, because naked cakes are in for this wedding season!

Naked wedding cakes are basically regular wedding cakes without any frosting on top, just the base of the cake, usually decorated with flowers or fruits, and filling on the inside.

#2: Casual weddings.

Don’t get us wrong, black tie weddings held in fancy venues are still alive and thriving, however, the upcoming trend is way more chilled. People are going for more of a casual, daytime weddings than the fancier option.

Also, it is worth to mention the dressing code isn’t just long dresses and tuxedos anymore. “Semi formal” and “Cocktail chic” are some of the more popular dress options for this wedding season.

#3: Buffet style weddings.

Perhaps the biggest wedding trend in 2018 is about the food. People aren’t having traditional seated meals anymore, but rather going for a buffet kinda style, in which all the guests can serve their own food.

It is also worth to mention that the presence of more local, not so “fancy” food is very well alive in wedding these days, with couples preferring to have a taco station, mini hamburgers and even barbeques over any other meal.

#4: More desserts, please.

Another great wedding trend that we particularly love is the idea to include more sweets to the dessert table. Oreo cookies, cake pops, doughnuts, fresh milk and even ice cream are some of the most popular desserts nowadays.

Not only that, but everyday people are finding more original ways to present these sweets. Like giving milk in glass bottles, piling up the doughnuts like a cake tower, serving ice cream in little cut cups… You can be as extravagant and hilarious with your sweet presentations as you wish!

#5: Uncommon wedding locations.

Couples nowadays don’t want to have their wedding in a regular hotel venue, nope, they want to go for the big, eccentric places. A huge trend has been rustic weddings, in which couples get married in a natural location like a garden, the woods or even a barn.

A lot of couples are choosing to get married in old mansion or historic places, and some still go for the good old classic wedding at the beach (which has been a trend for quite some time now).

#6: Rose gold everywhere.

We have seen it in phones, in clothing lines, in laptops, literally everywhere, and now we see rose gold in wedding decorations! This color will be very present during this wedding season, so expect to see it a lot.

Combine rose gold with flowers in your wedding decorations and you will have two of the biggest 2018 wedding trends right there, in your wedding venue. And if you really want to get on with the trend, make sure the flowers are falling from the ceiling.
